The section on family violence explores the nature and extent of family violence and victimisation by examining the incidence of, trends in conviction of, and issues regarding protection orders in family violence. This section also provides a summary of the policy issues in relation to family violence, such as statistical interpretation, legislative changes effectiveness, family violence prevention, Māori and Pacific peoples over-representation, service gaps, repeat victimisation, impact on children, linkages to other strategies and initiatives, and discussion of family violence focus groups.
