In this report, we find that GBV legislation implementation is
positively influenced by female political leadership, especially by the presence of women in parliaments. While we find a limited impact of female political leaders, or the number of women as heads of governments in those countries. We claim this is largely dependent on the importance of gender equality in parliaments and their influence and power to include gender equality measures in the political agenda. (From the document).
