NZCVS Cycle 4 (2020-21), March 2023
Controlling behaviours and help-seeking for Family Violence. This report is based on the NZCVS Cycle 4 (2020/21) data. The report covers New Zealand adults' experiences of controlling behaviours and harm in the context of a close personal relationship (current and previous partners, and other family or whānau members) and their help-seeking behaviours. The questions relating to controlling behaviour were introduced in Cycle 4 of the NZCVS and have been designed to capture the broader patterns of family violence as it is defined in the Family Violence Act 2018.
