The report describes the various outcomes that victims of sexual violence experience through the criminal justice process. This includes both trial and conviction outcomes, and outcomes associated with the Police investigation process prior to any charges being filed. The report enables a better understanding of victims’ experience through the criminal justice system and continued input for prioritisation of Justice sector activity and initiatives. It also provides an important baseline for monitoring, as changes such as the Sexual Violence Legislation Act 2021 come into force.
