In July 2023, the Ministry of Justice commissioned Solasta Consulting Ltd to undertake an evaluation of the New Zealand Crime and Victims Survey. The evaluation aims to assess the current state and value of the NZCVS and provide workable recommendations about how it can be improved.
The evaluation involved co-design with the NZCVS team – this included an initial workshop to refine Key Evaluation Questions and a final workshop to refine draft recommendations. Solasta also provided continuous feedback to the NZCVS team including three presentations to share emerging findings and weekly progress updates.
The evaluation used a multi-method approach including: a document review, international comparisons, 60 in-depth interviews with stakeholders, five case studies, and a technical review. The evaluation’s key messages and recommendations have been generated through this robust multi-method approach. (From the document).
